The third LAPBOOK

  Last day, february 16th was the chosen day to introduce their Lapbook by the second group, sixth grade. This lapbook shows us the contents, chosen by the own group about Unit 3 topics.

  The components were: Raúl, Francisco, Andriy, David  and Pepe.

  We know that lapbooks are paper manipulatives using file folders in which the student stores creative summaries of their work in class. Lapbooks are more than just notebooks with collections of worksheets, they are diagrams, minute books, games to use the vocabulary and other paper manipulatives customized to emphasize the subject of the lapbook. And we can´t forget the development in English Communication Competences.

LAPBOOK, UNIT 2.

    Este nuevo LAPBOOK ha sido realizado y presentado por el alumnado del Tercer Ciclo, Sexto curso de Educación Primaria. Este curso se ha dividido en cinco grupos de 5 alumnos/as, quedando un grupo con un alumno/a más. Para ello han estado llevando a cabo un trabajo colaborativo, en el que se han presentado las actividades correspondientes a la Unidad 2, que ya se han trabajado en clase. Se ha preparado un LAPBOOK, en el que, de manera visual, con actividades basadas en juegos, dibujos, esquemas del tema, una parte cultural en la que se tratan aspectos sociales, artísticos y creativos, donde el alumno/a trabaja de forma colaborativa, coordinándose el grupo en todos los aspectos, donde cada miembro del grupo realiza una función específica, se permite que se repartan los roles dependiendo de las habilidades de cada uno de esos miembros: por tanto, se evalúa y valora el esfuerzo personal, el trabajo en equipo, la comunicación tanto oral com escrita, ya que debe presentarse el trabajo a los compañeros/as de clase, quien también, además del maestro/a participará en la evaluación de la actuación del citado grupo.

Ahora sí aquí tenemos la presentación que han realizado los alumnos del 6º curso Kevin y Daniel. En esta presentación realizada y basada en un trabajo a presentar en la clase de Inglés en su conexión CLIL con el área de Ciencias Sociales y referido exactamente a la unidad 2 de este área.

Copy this text about my grandma, answer the question and send me your work:

LIFE IN THE 60S

  My grandma was 20 years old in 1961. She loved the 1960s. Lots of things were very different then.

Clothes were different. My grandma Alice wore long boots and short dresses. She had a fantastic hat. She didn´t wear any necklaces or bracelets because jewellery wasn´t very fashionable then.

  She had lots of fun in the 1960s. She didn´t watch television (her family didn´t have a TV!) but she wrote letters, read magazines and went to pop concerts. She saw The Beatles in concert in 1963! She didn´t take any photos because she didn´t have a camera, but she´s got lots of great memories of the concert.

 In 1967 a new Chinese restaurant opened in her town. She was very excited because she didn´t know what Chinese food was! Nowadays she goes for a Vhinese meal every month. Grandma Alice was surprised because they didn´t use knives and forks in the Chinese restaurant - they used chopsticks. It was a big adventure for her!

COMPREHENSION (Answer all these questions in English):

Works in your holidays

I´m going to explain some activities you have to do in your Christmas Holidays.
6th grade, forms A and B.

• First:  We have studied four celebrations in class and in this term:
• Halloween
• Bonfire Night
• Thanksgiving Day and
• Christmas festival.

     We have written about them as if they were news, answering: What, When, Where, Who and How, so, now we have to express it, using English language, i.e. SPEAKING, in order to improve our abilities in this competence.

     You have to prepare its explanation (about one of this festivals, what you prefer) in your holidays and when we came back you´ll have to show me and your partner.  Practice a lot, please.

     Finally, we record all your performance and show your experience in this blog.

• Second:  You have to translate and do COMPREHENSION and other  activities  in SPEAK UP English magazine, that we have just started to work, about "THE GOLDEN BRIDGE".

5th grade A     

   

  First:  They´ll prepare an easier speaking excercise about these three celebrations:

•  Halloween
• Thanksgiving and
• Christmas.

 Second: Translate and do Comprehension Text and other activities about Nessie, the Monster of Loch Ness.
    LAKE NESS MONSTER.

4th grade A (Science)
     You´ll have to make a card activity in groups of four-five pupils (2 cards, A3), you´ll write about your four unit. Nutrition function in animals and plants.

You have photocopy with your group and contents.

It´s important that you prepare before that piece of text in order to tell me and your partners when we came back in January.

 We have to do a record telling us your part in ENGLISH.

Webquest about: GB and UK differences, Scotland and Nessie a legend of Loch Ness

We have done a work about a Webquest. It was very important that children know about all the topics involved in this work and at the same time to discover how to investigate using some resources in the Internet.
  There were three titles that they have to investigate in groups of six, two by two:
First Group: Differencing UK and GB.
Second Group: Scotland, a country of UK or GB.
Third Group: Nessie, a legend in Loch Ness (Scotland Highlands).
